My first week of class was nerve racking for me. Being a first time online student can be a little intimidating. I have so much to learn about the Rasmussen portal, teachers, understanding how to read the syllabus and so much more. Although I seemed to be getting around the website…I still had some doubt that I was doing everything right.
My first week of class was a little more work than I was ready to take on; at least that is what I thought. Once I started reading the syllabus and figuring out how the system worked, I then began my first class discussion. What a rush!
Then the teacher gave me an assignment that I had to do by the end of the week. I was a little worried, because I wasn’t sure if I was doing the assignment right. What if my font was wrong, and so on…
As I had questions, I used Angel to reach out to my Instructor to find out the answers. The teacher was so quick to respond to my questions. What a great benefit for students! This helped answer my questions and put me at ease. The good news is that I was doing everything right, but having that validation really made a difference.
It took me several hours to complete my first week assignments, but I know each week will get easier for me. I made it through the first week! I was very eager to see my grades- to see how I did on the assignments. I actually received 100 points for both!

I am searching for good online classes but every where i turn i hear stories about students being ripped off or bad quality of education. How would you rate the financial aid department and the quality of education from rasmussen college?

Tyecha,
Great question! I have been attending online classes at Rasmussen College for a Year and a half - When is comes to quality the Professors at Rasmussen have gone beyond my expectations. Online classes can be challenging and it is important to have great teachers to coach you through and make sure you are receiving proper education and learning what they are teaching. So far my teachers have been excellent. As for the financial aid department they are great and can provide you with any information needed to make sure you are getting all the assistance possible. On top of the quality of education, the schedule is great! I work fulltime and it was important for me to be with a school that could be flexible with my schedule. Also Rasmussen is regionally accredited which was a huge plus for me because once I finish here I can continue at any University. I hope this helps and if you have any further questions please feel free to email me.
